Maria Montessori (August 31, 1870 – May 6, 1952) was an Italian doctor, reform pedagogue and philosopher. The Montessori pedagogy she developed is characterized by her development-promoting approach “Help me to do it myself!”. The basic principles of Montessori education are as follows:
– The child comes first, must be seen as an individual and has a unique personality. – The main aim is to teach children independence and self-confidence. – The children’s learning processes should be encouraged to the maximum. – Every child is different and has their own learning rhythm.
This approach is linked to the clear requirement to provide individual support for children with a wide range of abilities and to enable them to participate in society in the best possible way. This is and remains our guiding principle and ultimate goal.
The Theodor Hellbrügge Foundation regularly organizes further and advanced training courses with renowned speakers.
